Walk The Talk Penang - 25th November 2012

Seringkali kita terbaca atau mendengar penderaan terhadap wanita, kita seolah-olah tidak dapat berbuat apa-apa.  Mungkin teman, saudara kita berada dalam situasi sedemikian, terperangkap dan tidak tahu jalan keluar.  Jiwa wanita terseksa, di dera dari segi fizikal dan mental saban waktu. 

Tunjukkan sokongan anda bahawa lebih banyak yang perlu dilakukan untuk menghentikan keganasan terhadap wanita, sila datang dan sertai Walk The Talk di Pulau Pinang .

Datang dan ambil bahagian di dalam Walk The Talk di Pulau Pinang pada Ahad 25 November ini bermula di Straits Quay pada 5 petang dan berakhir di Gurney Plaza.  Walk The Talk Penang  adalah dianjurkan oleh WCC dan Soroptimist International Penang sebagai sebahagian dari Walk the Talk dari Perlis ke Sabah : Berhentikan Keganasan Terhadap Wanita oleh SIROM. 
 

Pendaftaran adalah hanya RM50 dan sebahagian kutipan akan memanfaat kerja-kerja WCC- Hentikan keganasan terhadap wanita.  Semua peserta berdaftar akan mendapat beq berisi kudapan, termasuk Baju T & botol air mineral dan lain-lain. 

Untuk para sukarelawan WCC, ada diskaun.  Ayuh ramai-ramailah kita mendaftar sekarang.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign is an international campaign that began in 1991. Every year, from November 25th, the International Day of Elimination of Violence against Women, to December 10th, International Human Rights Day, the campaign calls on individuals and groups around the world to act to end all forms of violence against women and girls.

Making the critical link between violence against women and human rights, the 16 Days Campaign has been used by individuals and groups around the world to take action for the elimination of all forms of violence against women. This includes raising awareness about gender based violence through organizing talks, seminar and various other initiatives such as walks, exhibitions, drama and so on. As more and more people take part in the 16 Days campaign the solidarity of people around the world organizing against violence against women continues to grow. Over 4,100 organizations in approximately 172 countries have participated in the annual 16 Days Campaign since 1991!

In Malaysia, national police statistics have shown that in 2011 there were approximately 8 reports of domestic violence and 17 reports of sexual assault made DAILY. It is estimated that most of such crimes go unreported and many women and girls do not access the help they need.
